Despite the weather we stopped by "Vehicle Day" for a quick run through....
Ahhh, the double rainbow experience....Kyla has a thing for rainbows, she sings the "rainbow song" constantly...Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet too. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Colors of the rainbow. So needless to say when we ventured outside after a gentle rain she was stoked to find a real rainbow painting the sky with it's vivid colors. I love the fact that she is a little "naturalist in training." It's comes quite easy for all of us living out here, close to the woods, surrounded by wildlife. The kids are always searching for some sort of bug, digging for worms, observing the deer/turkey/coyote...any type of wildlife. (Hey, as long as a mountain lion never appears, we're good..lol) Kyla's also started, and is quite proud of, her feather collection and is always scoping out her surroundings for another one to add. Just a few days ago she brought in a wing from a locust and wanted to put it with the rest of her feathers...lol. Hey, Charles Darwin would be proud.. That's our girl!

The Easter Bunny brought the kids matching Cardinal's outfits...priceless, and definitely cheesy. You should have seen Kevin's face when I told him they were indeeed wearing them to future games. (btw-they sported them to a game a couple weeks ago...and looked adorable.)
Ahhhh, the bunny teeth suckers (think Ring-Pop for Easter)--Considering these "treats" were "Made in China" and included all sorts of artificial coloring...let's just say they magically disappeared after the pic was taken...

This, THIS is what it's all about...chickens, kids, nature=FUN times! For those of you who might not know we now own 4 chicks.(That will soon, by winter, produce 4 eggs a day...YAY!!) They, as of now, live in our neighbors chicken coop along with 18+ other friends. (I'm trying to figure out how to raise chickens on our property with two labs and one unwilling hubby. lol) Anyway, we just love visiting the coop...it makes for a nice little adventure. Asher runs straight to the hens and squats down to "talk" to them as soon as they come near.
